Merry Christmas :-)

Happy Thursday

Well three days to Christmas, where does the time go? I hope this posting finds you all well, and ready for the festivities.
Here in the Turner household we are ready bar buying the fresh veg, cream etc. We are looking forward to a quiet celebration here on the Kent coast, after such a hectic year, what with teaching, and demonstrating in the lovely Hobby Craft, and not forgetting all those cards and cakes I have made this past year.

I want to share this stunning card with you that is featured on FB on the Card Maker  magazine page, the stamp set is from Gina K Designs it is called Branching Out, and is illustrated by the talented Melanie Muenchinger.  This set is stunning and so versatile, it is also Spellbinders friendly.

Do have a very merry Christmas and new year, I hope all your wishes come true, and all your stockings are stuffed with crafting goodies!

Thank you for joining me here over the last few months :-)

See you all in 2012 xxxx

Carolina's Black & White Tag Challenge

Happy Monday. it is a cold clear frosty morning here in my part of the world. I hope you all had a lovely weekend, with not too much Christmas preparation :-)

On Friday the sweet Carolina posted a Tag Challenge over at STV, I used the stamp set Vintage Chic  for both tags.

Here I my entries:

Firstly I made a tag for a female recipient:

I used Spellbinders Labels Four large S4-190, and small S4-309. I felt this shape emulates the shape of a fancy mirror. The ribbon and bow is from my stash.

The tag for a male recipient:

The Spellbinders used are Classic Scalloped Rectangles large S4-133 and Classic Rectangles large S4-132. I also used a SU labels punch for the sentiment and an EK Success medium photo corner punch. The ribbon is again from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by

STV November Launch Challenges

Happy Friday, can not believe it is December already, Santa will soon be here and I will be exhausted as usual trying to keep all the family happy, but I love every minute of it!

So here is the November launch challenge entries, and what a launch it was. The new stamp sets are amazing and Gina and the Design team surpassed themselves with over 70 new cards!

They sure worked their sox off this month!

Ok here we go with challenge 1:

The challenge was set by the oh so lovely Lee and it is called Summer in November, here is my entry:

The stamp sets are Aloha,  Tropical Flowers and A year of Leaves. The details are as follows:

I first stamped the large flower in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured using Copics RV06, RV02 and RV000. The centre stamens are coloured with a Memento Tangelo pen and the I added some Sakura Copper Star. I then cut it out.

Next I stamped the leaves and coloured with YG03, YG95 and pulled in some highlights with my blender pen. I then also cut them out.

For the background panel I cut out some White card stock with Spellbinders Labels 9 S4-233, while it was still in the die I sponged Memento Cantaloupe, Angel Pink and Rose Bud, I also stamped the flowers from Tropical Flowers using Archival Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid and Pearlescent Coral.

For the backing paper, I used scraps mounted on pink card stock.

The the label and flower are all mounted on pop dots, and the whole thing is then attached to a white square card base.

Challenge No 2 was set by the wonderful Tina and it is a Tag Challenge, sorry I do not have any step by step photos for this one, but my inspiration came from Tim Holtz Twelve Days of Christmas 2011 - Day 1.

The inks are all the Tim Holts Holiday limited edition and the stamp set is from the STV kit Wishing you Joy

The embossing folder is a Tim Holtz Texture Fade Christmas background and boarder set.

I stared by rubbing Versamark ink onto the folder and embossing with my Texture Boutique, I then sprinkled Seafoam white embossing powder by Papermania over the tag and heat embossing. After it had cooled I sponged with Distress Iced Spruce.

The spruce branch is cut using a die from Marianne D, sponged with Distress Evergreen Bough, I used a quickie glue pen on the edges and used some white glitter.
The wings are from my stash of chipboard shapes, covered in glue and silver glitter.
The tag is stamped and sponged with Distress Festive Berries and cut with a SU labels punch, I used a little Burgundy Stickle on the edges.

Cat's Cut it out Challenge And Vicky's ABC Challenge

Happy Thursday and a pinch and a punch :-)

Today I am showing you two entries for the Challenges over at STV, firstly the lovely Cat challenged us last Friday to "Cut it out!" Below is my entry and some details on how I made the card.

The second challenge is from the sweet Vicky and her ABC (anything but a card). I did not get a chance to step by step this one but the details are below also!

Ok Cat's challenge:

The stamp sets are Farm life and Autumn Beauty, both by the lovely and talented Theresa Momber

I stamped the tree/fence image from Farm Life and coloured it in with Copic markers Y17, YG95 and YG97 for the foliage.
The trunk was coloured with E37 and E47.
For the grass I again used YG95 and YG97.
Finally the fence was coloured using E35 and I added some shadows with N1.

Next I stamped the  pumpkins from Autumn Beauty, and coloured with YR07, YR04 and YR00, I used YG95 for the stalks, I then cut out the image.

I stamped the watering can from Farm Life colouring with N5, N3 and N1, I also blended with my colourless blender. The grass is coloured with YG 95 and I added some shading with E37. Again I cut the image out.

I cut the picture out with my Spellbinders Petite Oval small S4-140

I also cut out a Petite Scalloped Oval S4-141 in chocolate brown.

I layered some DP from K&Company (this is from an old pad in my stash) on to some more brown card stock, this was then placed on an ivory card base. The can and pumpkins are stuck with pop dots.
The sentiment is also from Farm Life and is cut out with SU oval and scalloped oval punches.

Now here is the photo and details of the gift card holder for the ABC challenge:

The template is curtesy of Waltzingmouse over at  SCS (click on the link for template)

The stamp set is Basket Additions by the very talented Melanie Muenchinger  and is coloured with Copics, I also added some Sakura stardust pens for a little bit of sparkle!
The DP is from my stash and the Cuttlebug folder is called Textile.
The lace boarder is also from my stash.

I would also like to give a huge thank you to the so lovely Theresa Momber, (she knows what this is for!)
